AT RAINBOW BRIDGE

There is a bridge connecting Heaven and Earth.
It is called the Rainbow Bridge because of its many colors.
Just this side of the Rainbow Bridge, there is a land of meadows,
hills and valleys with lush green grass.

When a beloved pet dies, the pet goes to this place.
There is always food and water and warm Spring weather.
Those old and frail animals are young again.
Those who have been maimed are made whole again.
They play all day with each other.

Some of them here by the Bridge are different.
These pets were beaten, starved, tortured, and unloved.
They watch wistfully as their friends leave one by one,
to cross the bridge with their special person.
For them there is no one, no special one.
Their time on earth did not give them one.

But one day, as they run and play,
they notice someone standing by the road to the bridge.
This person wistfully watches the reunions of friends,
for during life, this person had no pet.
This person was beaten, starved, tortured, and unloved.

Standing there alone, one of the unloved pets approaches,
curious as to why this one is alone.
And as the unloved pet and the unloved person get nearer to each other,
a miracle occurs, for these are the ones who were meant to be together,
the special person and the beloved pet who never had the chance to meet while on Earth.
Finally, now, at the edge of the Rainbow Bridge, their souls meet,
the pain and the sorrow disappears, and two friends are together.

They cross the Rainbow Bridge together, never again to be separated.

"Buster" Rechel

9/6/96 - 11/25/09

I have been wanting to do this for a while but just couldn’t bring myself too but I’m good now and would like to post Buster’s picture with you all.  The entire staff there is so great.  I probably drove you crazy with the amount of visits I had there with Dr. Corfman towards the end but I really appreciated how concerned you were with him.
Of course I still miss him terribly but I know he is better now and I like to think that he has made friends and is just having a terrific time playing and enjoying being young again.

"Maggie" Mathews

1-27-00 to 9-22-08

We lost our sweet Maggie three weeks ago and she was such a wonderful friend and companion I wanted her to be included on the Memorial Page.  Also, below a poem that really helped me with one of the hardest decisions I’ve ever had to make.

Thanks so much,

Kerri

The Last Battle

If it should be that I grow frail and weak,
And pain should keep me from my sleep,
then you must do what must be done
For this, the last battle, can't be won.

You will be sad, I understand,
Don't let the grief then stay your hand,
For this day more than all the rest
Your love and friendship stand the test.

We've had so many happy years,
What is to come can hold no fears.
You'd not want me to suffer so;
When the time comes, please let me go.

Take me where my needs they'll tend
And stay with me, if you can, to the end.
Hold me firm and speak to me
Until my eyes no longer see.

I know in time, you will see,
It is a kindness you do for me.
Although my tail its last was waved,
From pain and suffering I've been saved.

Don't grieve that it should be you,
Who must decide this thing to do,
We've been so close, we two, these years;
Don't let your heart hold any tears.

Smile, for we walked together for a little while.

"Bubba" the Rocket Dog

2-2-02 to 11-11-08

I Loved You Best

So this is where we part, my friend,
and you’ll run on, around the bend.
Gone from sight but not from mind,
new pleasures there you’ll surely find.

I will go on, I’ll find the strength,
life measures quality, not its length.

One long embrace before you leave.
Share one last look before I grieve.

There are others, that much is true,
but they be they and they aren’t you.

And I, fair, impartial, or so I thought,
will remember well all you’ve taught.

Your place I’ll hold, you will be missed,
the fur I stroked, the nose I kissed.

"Sir Didymus"

6-06 to 2-17-09

We lost our young ferret unexpectedly.  Sir Didymus was the sweetest, and bravest little thing.  Everyone that met him, loved him.  There are so many things we have to say about him, but there isn't enough room.  He was our baby, and he is very dearly missed.

Sir Graylord "Hummer" Babycat

Born ?/??/2000 Home to our Creator 6/16/2009

Abyssinian/Russian Blue- A Renaissance Indoor Cat

Hummer loved to smell the flowers, to commune with the birds and deer, cuddle with his pink blanket, play with his shaker mouse. and to greet all visitors with "Hello, How are you?" as the stretched his head forward to be petted.

Hummer had the loudest trill and purr when he was happy- which was all the time.

To say he was "just a cat" is cutting his personality way too short. He brought joy and happiness to our lives and a light to our home. Hummer had the Spirit of a Tiger and the Heart of a Lamb, and now an Angel Cat forever and always in our hearts

Hummer, we miss you, but know in Our Creators arms you are home.

I'm learning to fly
the world took me away,
but please don't you cry
And I chose you today
to try and be strong
so please don't you cry
and don't say that I'm gone
When you're feeling alone
just remember our love,
I'm up near the stars
looking down from above.
Remember our love
In a moment you'll see
that I'm still here beside you

when you're thinking of me.
